Bird Flu Passing from Man to Man

Each day the spread of bird flu is assuming increasingly threatening forms for mankind. The number of people who died of that disease is steadily growing.

In Indonesia alone, 21 people are officially reported to have died of bird flu. Now doctors have confirmed that the 3-year-old boy, who died on February 28, also had bird flu.

In Belgium, a man was taken to hospital on suspicion of having bird flu. The man had returned from China a few days ago where he might have been infected with the deadly virus. If the diagnosis is confirmed, he will be the first European to get infected with bird flu.

Despite the fact that no cases of the virus passing from man to man have been confirmed so far, researchers do not rule out such a possibility after a virus mutation.
