EU Demands Estonia Stop Discrimination

The European Commission urged Tallinn to adopt a law against discrimination Tuesday to protect the country’s population from racial, ethnic, language, background, religious discrimination, as well as intolerance of political and other beliefs, property and social status, age, health and sexual orientation, and other kinds of bias. If Estonia fails to complete the EC requirement, it will face a serious fine, DELFI reports.

Estonia’s Foreign Ministry was quick to respond that the relevant bill has already been drafted by the Justice Ministry and will soon be sent to the government for consideration.
