Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for International Affairs Aleksey Chepa, after a trip to North Korea, believes that Pyongyang will not abandon it’s nuclear program. North Koreans are not afraid of sanctions.
«The head of the North Korean parliament convinced us that they are ready to live under these sanctions for another hundred years,» – the diplomat said.
Chepa said that Pyongyang without any doubts are not going to participate in the negotiations on the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, the threats to them do not mean anything. The DPRK would not undertake the latest missile test, if Washington and Seoul did not aggravate the situation.
The deputy noted that while Pyongyang was silent, Washington was aggravating the situation. «Cruisers in the area of the Sea of Japan and conducted exercises for the DPRK are threats from the American side», – the diplomat said.
The deputy told about the Russian position of condemning missile launches. However, the North Koreans consider the last test is a counteraction to the American threat, the achievement of parity with the United States. «In the DPRK, everyone understand that it is a huge victory for the Korean people, a great achievement in the economic and military spheres. Today there is a celebration in the country, rallies are held», – Chepa stressed.
«Seizing Pyongyang at the negotiating table will be possible only after the termination of the policy of intimidation, the policy of provocation by Washington and Seoul», – concluded Chepa.
