A Russian Navy team has arrived to the Chinese city of Quanzhou on Saturday to take part in the international stage of the Amphibious Assault Landing contest of the Army Games, the Russian Defense Ministry told journalists, TASS reports.
"The Russian Navy’s national team has come to the city of Quanzhou in the People’s Republic of China to take part in the international contest ‘Amphibious Assault Landing-2018’ on field training among marine units," the ministry reported.
The Russian marines will soon embark on the study of the competition routes and target layout. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Chinese and Venezuelan teams already arrived for the competition. "A team from Iran is expected to come. A team from the Republic of the Sudan will take part in this competition for the first time. As many as five teams including 250 people will take part in the Amphibious Assault Landing-2018 competition," the Defense Ministry reported.
All teams will perform with Chinese equipment and weapons, according to the contest rules.
"The marines will have to master unknown techniques to show their skills and take leading positions in individual and team classifications," the Russian Defense Ministry stressed.
The Amphibious Assault Landing-2018 will run on August 1-11.
