As many as 14,000 schools were prepared to receive students on September 1, said head of the Russian National Center for Defense Management Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev on Thursday, TASS reports.
"Fourteen thousand schools were prepared to receive students on September 1," he said at a session of the Russian and Syrian Interagency Coordination Headquarters on the Repatriation of Syrian Refugees.
Mizintsev said that more than 1.22 million internally displaced people returned to their homes in Syria, more than 141,000 of them since the beginning of the year.
"More than 238,500 people returned to Syria from foreign states due to the taken measures; there were more than 9,500 citizens in July-August, including over 9,000 Syrians from Lebanon," he added.
Mizintsev also reported that 93 medical facilities and 226 educational facilities were restored since the beginning of the year, 335 km of highways were repaired and 261 km of electric power transmission lines were laid. As many as 88 electric power substations, 74 water supply facilities, two oil wells and two fuel energy complexes were also launched.
