Damascus is one step away from achieving the full victory over terrorists, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem told the round-the-clock television news channel in an interview, TASS reports.
"As far as the military situation is concerned, I can say that on the ground it is excellent. Most of Syria’s territories have been retaken from terrorists. I should say, we are a quarter of an hour away from victory," he said.
Idlib is Syria’s sole region that still remains in the hands of illegal armed groups. In 2017 a northern zone of de-escalation was created there to accommodate militants and their families who refused to accept reconciliation terms and lay down weapons.
