Polish Reporter Beaten up in Moscow Tells Everything

Pavel Reshka, reporter of the Polish newspaper "Rzeczpospolita", who had been beaten up on Kutuzov Avenue in Moscow at night August 11, has given testimony and a description of the criminals.

A spokesman of the metropolitan militia has said that P. Reshka informed the militia of the circumstances of the incident. According to him. the attackers were four or five. They were all tall, heavily built, of Slav appearance. "One of them was beating up the reporter, while the others were just standing by and looking on", said the spokesman quoting the testimony of the reporter.

At the Polish Embassy, journalists were told that diplomats would try to avoid giving any additional commentary, "so as not to provoke new conflicts".
