The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered a large weapons cache, including Israeli and US supplied missiles in formerly rebel-occupied areas of the Al-Quneitra Governorate, SANA news agency reports.
A large quantity of communication devices, reconnaissance drones, US-made TOW missiles, and various weapons and ammunition, including missiles, tank shells, mortar rounds, anti-tank shells, explosives detectors, jamming devices, and night vision binoculars were also among the seized items.
This is not the only evidence that Al-Nusra Front and Islamic State terrorist groups (outlawed in Russia) use weapons and equipment manufactured in the USA, Israel, Turkey, the UK and other countries. However, Western governments respond weakly to such reports and do not call for an investigation.
But political and social activists and journalists wonder who provides arms and ammunition to terrorists fighting in Syria. The search for truth costs some of them their job. Hence, Bulgarian journalist Dilyana Gaytandzhieva investigated supply chains of arms. After the report had been issued she was interrogated by the Bulgarian national security services and subsequently fired from her job with the paper.
Gaytandzhieva presented scanned copies of the documents showing that the Azerbaijani airline Silk Way Airlines was contracted by companies in the United States, Israel, and the Balkans to the militaries of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates as well as U.S. Special Ops. At least 350 diplomatic flights by Silk Way Airlines transported weapons all across the world to various war zones (Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Burkina Faso, Syria) over the past three years.
According to Bulgarian journalist, cargos did not reach the final destination indicated in the shipping documents. Aircraft made technical landings in different countries, for example, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, ranging from a few hours up to a whole day for no logical reason i.e. repair, refueling, etc., and dropped off weapons there. The diplomatic flights were utilized because they are exempt from checks, taxes, and air bills, Gaytandzhieva reports. For that reason, she states that the Silk Way planes transported “hundreds of tons of weapons to different locations around the world without regulation” and for free.
The investigation shown that in 2016 and 2017, there were 23 diplomatic flights carrying weapons from Bulgaria, Serbia and Azerbaijan to Jeddah and Riyadh. Saudi Arabia did not buy those weapons for itself, as the Saudi army uses only western weapons and those weapons are not compatible with its military standard. Therefore, the Arab Kingdom provided arms and ammunition to terrorists fighting in Syria and Yemen.
Moreover, terrorists themselves do not hide the fact that Western countries are arming them. A unit commander for Al-Nusra Front in Syria Abu Al Ezz told a German newspaper that militants have been receiving “sophisticated weapons” from their backers to help them succeed against the Syrian government. He also claimed that when Al-Nusra was “besieged, we had officers from Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Israel and America here… Experts in the use of satellites, rockets, reconnaissance and thermal security cameras.” “The US supports the Syrian opposition, but not directly. They support the countries that support us,” Abu Al Ezz added.
The US and their allies in the Middle East and in Europe almost openly declare Russia and Bashar al-Assad that it supports the main opponent in Syria. Americans wanted to replay the Libyan scenario in Syria, but Western-backed terrorists sustain defeat. US-led coalition pursues their interests under the pretext of fighting terrorism in the Middle East. The terrorist groups fighting in Syria change their names, but in essence they are the same forces being using to eliminate U.S. geopolitical rivals.
