Google Corporation maintains a constant contact with the Russian telecom watchdog Roskomnadzor and is ready for a dialog with the regulator, press service of the corporation told TASS on Tuesday.
Google representatives will come to a meeting with the regulator on November 14 to discuss compliance with Russian laws, head of the Russian authority Alexander Zharov said earlier.
"We maintain a constant contact with the regulator and are open for a dialog," Google says in a comment.
An issue of Google’s connection to the Federal State Information System will be discussed in particular during the meeting, Zharov said. Google believes it is compliant with Russian laws but the regulator disagrees with that," the official said. Negotiations will also cover a wide range of topics, including localization of personal data of Russian users, he added.
The regulator said earlier that Google can get a fine of 500-700 thousand rubles ($7,400-10,300) for refusal to connect to the Federal State Information System of Russia with the list of websites blocked in Russia. Google was to be connected to the system for exclusion of blocked websites from search results.
