Russian Army Is Short of Uniforms

In 2006 the Russian government would be able to provide only half of servicemen with everyday uniforms. As for special duty uniforms, only one in four servicemen would get any. That conclusion has been made by experts of the parliamentary committee on defense who are working on documents for the third reading of the 2006 draft budget.

A source in the lower chamber administration says there is no provision altogether in the draft budget for the procurement of sports equipment and special clothes for the civilian staff of the Ministry of Defense.
