G. Bush Takes on the Blame

Wednesday US president George Bush acknowledged that US intelligence data on the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which served as a pretext for going to war, had been wrong, and took on all responsibility.

Nevertheless, the US president continues to believe that the decision to topple the Saddam Hussein regime was correct.

"It is true that much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong. As president, I'm responsible for the decision to go into Iraq, and I'm also responsible for fixing what went wrong by reforming our intelligence capabilities", said G. Bush.

"My decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power was correct... Today we are in Iraq because our goal has always been not only to remove the savage dictator from power", added the US president.
