"Ruslan" to Work for NATO

Russia and Ukraine have signed a contract with NATO to lease out "Ruslan" cargo aircraft for three years, with a possibility of extension up to 2012. At the moment the document is getting NATO's approval. German parliament's approval is also required. Shipping operations are due to start in 2006.

"Volga-Dniepr" (Russia) and "Antonov Airlines" (Ukraine) companies will have equal shares in the project. Under the contract, NATO is to get up to 6 aircraft on lease.
