The first batch of 1,100 doses of the coronavirus vaccine has been delivered by an aircraft to the 201st military base in Tajikistan, the Central Military District’s press service said in a statement on Tuesday.
The military doctors used special "cold chain" containers for transporting the vaccine. "First of all, medical workers of the 451st Russian military hospital, servicemen on combat duty, the command and forces on duty at the base will get the vaccine. Before the vaccination, the servicemen will be informed about the new coronavirus infection, the influence of the drug on human body and possible side effects," the statement said, TASS reports.
Vaccination will be carried out absolutely on a voluntary basis.
The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. The military base is stationed in the cities of Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized infantry, tank, artillery, intelligence, air defense and chemical, biological and radiological units.
