In the capital of Portugal the Russian leaders will have a meeting with President Aníbal Cavaco Silva and Prime Minister José Sócrates. Sergey Prokhodko said that the Medvedev’s visit to Portugal will last for three hours only.
On Saturday, Medvedev will arrive at Peru where he will take part in the of the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit. It is the first visit of the Russian head of state to Peru.
During the Summit, Dmitry Medvedev will have several bilateral meetings, including with the presidents of the USA and Indonesia, Chairman of China, prime-ministers of Japan and Australia. According to Prikhodko, the number of the bilateral meetings may increase as the programs of the leaders are agreed upon.
On Monday, during his official visit to Peru Medvedev will have a meeting with President of Peru Alan Garcia and visit to the National Congress. On the same day Dmitry Medvedev will depart for Brazil.
On Tuesday, within the framework of his official visit to Brazil Medvedev will have a working dinner with President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Besides, Dmitry Medvedev will take part in a ceremony of laying wreaths at the memorial of soldiers fell in battles of World War II, and visit world-wide famous soccer stadium of Rio de Janeiro “Maracana”, travel up to the mountain of Corcovado to see the famous statute of Christ, and visit the Capacabana Beach.
On Tuesday night, the Russian President is to arrive at Caracas on an official visit as scheduled. He will pay homage at the National Pantheon to Freedom Fighter Simon Bolivar prior to his meeting with President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez. After the official welcome ceremony the leaders will a vis-à-vis meeting, and later the talks will continue in an expanded format. After the meeting the leaders will attend a press-conference.
On Thursday, D. Medvedev and H. Chavez will visit the Heavy Nuclear-Powered Guided-Missile Cruiser Peter the Great, which is involved in a joint exercise with the Venezuelan Navy in the Caribbean Sea.
The last capital of the Medvedev’s Latin American trip will be Habana, the capital of Cuba. The Russian leader will have a meeting with Chairman of the State Council Raul Castro.
On Friday, November 28, Dmitry Medvedev will return to Moscow.
The Russian head of state will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Assistant Sergey Prikhodko, Vice-Premier Igor Sechin, Ministers Sergey Shmatko and Alexey Gordeyev, Head of Roskosmos Anatoli Perminov, Head of the Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation Mikhail Dmitriyev and other officials and businessmen.
