The SCO Business Council together with website InfoSHOS conducts an expert roundtable conference on December 25, 2008, to discuss problems of the global financial and economic crisis and its impact on the social and economic situation in the SCO area.
It is expected that the forum will not only analyze the causes of the crisis and its impact on the economies of India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other states of Eurasia, but also will make efforts to find ways out of the situation, elaborate practical recommendations for the respective SCO structures in order to take urgent anti-crisis measures.
The Roundtable will listen to reports of S.V. Kanavski, SCO Business Council Executive Secretary, Professor N.A. Puchkov, Doctor of Science (Economy), SCO Business Council Expert, Professor A.V. Ostrovski, Doctor of Science (History and Economy), Deputy Director of the RAS Institute of Far Eastern Studies, Director of the Center for Economic and Social Studies of China and East Asia, Professor S.G. Luzyanin, Doctor of Science (History), Deputy Director of the RAS Institute of Far Eastern Studies, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies of North-Eastern Asia and SCO, Professor of the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Relations (MGIMO U) at the Russian Foreign Ministry, A.F. Klimenko, Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies of North-Eastern Asia and SCO in the RAS Institute of Far Eastern Studies, V.A. Matveyev, PhD (Economy), Leading Researcher of the Center for Strategic Studies of North-Eastern Asia and SCO in the RAS Institute of Far Eastern Studies, and Professor S.M. Nebrenchin, Doctor of Science (History), Head of the Press-Service of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The discussions will be attended by representatives of the Russian President’s Administration, Russian Foreign Ministry, EurAzEC, Federal Financial Markets Service (FFMS), Center for Strategic Developments, Stock Market Development Institute, Russian Venture Company, Russian Émigré Research Institute, researchers of the RAS Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Moscow State University, MGIMO, Diplomatic Academy at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Financial Academy at the Government of the Russian Federation, and others.
Following the results of the roundtable it is expected to publish a Roundtable Digest. The most significant communications will be posted on website InfoSHOS and other respective websites.
