According to the Russian mass media, on the day of the parade 165 aircrafts and helicopters will fly over Red Square. 21 of them will form the number 65. And since this week, preparations for the parade become the main task of all airforce units involved in the parade.
The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation does not provide so far accurate data on the technical equipment, which will take part in the parade. However, according to preliminary data, spectators will see aircrafts of the strategic, attack, fighter, bomber and transport aviation, as well as combat transport helicopters.
The main base for the aerotechnics during the parade will be an aviation center in Lipetsk. However, airfields of Torzhok, Ryazan, Chkalovsky, Kubinka, Klin, and other cities will be involved too.
Columns of forces, which will present all branches of Russia’s Armed Forces will traditionally march across Red Square on May 9. The current and newest models of weapons and military equipment already delivered to the Armed Forces of Russia will be shown. It is also known that a parade of veterans will took place on May 9 in Moscow, where veterans from all the CIS countries will take part.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that this year it was decided to impart the internal nature to the Victory Day celebrations.
“But as it comes to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, all the peoples of the former USSR won, then all the presidents of the Commonwealth are invited to these events,” said Sergey Lavrov. “An informal CIS summit will be timed to the anniversary of the Victory.”
