“Unfortunately, the resolution of the issues of border separation between a number of the SCO member states has been delayed, the issues of water and energy resources supply are reaching their peak, thus worsening the bilateral relations between the states,” said Otunbayeva at the summit.
“After all, the SCO got started with successful agreements on boundaries, confidence and cooperation building on both sides of the border. It is important for our organization to face these issues, to begin to discuss them, to create a permanent mechanism for analyzing contentious issues, to explore, to gain experience of positive problem-solving,” said the president of Kyrgyzstan.
It was reported earlier that the Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev held talks with Otunbayeva on the sidelines of the SCO summit between sessions of Heads of State.
According to information from the Russian leader’s press service, “topical issues of Russian-Kyrgyz relations were discussed.”
