In the Afghan province of Laghman, in the east of the country, today a local soldier opened fire on NATO militaries. According to the Headquarters of the International Security Assistance Force, the assailant was killed by return fire. There are no killed among the foreign soldiers. An exchange of fire occurred near the army object that hosts both foreign and Afghan militaries.
Not for the first time, NATO militaries are attacked by Afghan soldiers and police. On August 8, three NATO militaries were killed in a double terrorist attack in the eastern province of Kunar. On 7 August, as a result of a suicide bomber's attack on a military base in Afghanistan 13 people suffered. The incident occurred in the eastern province of Logar. A suicide bomber detonated a truck packed with explosives. Eleven victims are the Afghan militaries, and two others wounded are the U.S. servicemen.
