The Russian MFA considers the U.S. presidential elections technology archaic

Alexander Lukashevich
Context:

“The elections in the United States can hardly be called irreproachable in terms of compliance with generally accepted criteria and standards,” said Russian MFA Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich.

The diplomat said that the U.S. president is not elected by a direct vote of the electorate, but by the Electoral College, “and the election process itself is tangled, archaic and decentralized.”

The U.S. presidential elections will be held on November 6.
