The first parts of Petriot surface-to-air missile systems which NATO will tear in the south of Turkey at the beginning of 2013, arrived on air base of US Air Force, located under the city of Adana to 100 km from boundary with Syria. Together with military equipment arrived foreign military staff for complexes service.
Anders Fog Rasmussen marked, Patriot missile batteries won't be on the territory of Turkey more long, than it is necessary. "It, of course, will depend very strongly on a situation. They won't take place more long, than it is necessary", - he told.
Turkey addressed to NATO with a request to tear in its territory missile batteries on a case of possible attacks from Syria. Batteries is planned to tear near boundary with Syria. Together with them 400 foreign servicemen will be sent to Turkey.
According to NATO representatives thrown to Turkey by "Petriot" will be modified only for interception of Syrian ballistic missiles over the territory of the country and will have range of action of only 16 km in order that they couldn't cross the Turkish-Syrian boundary. Not modified "Petriot" have action range of 80 km, reports Armenia Today.
