Turkey has blocked the entry of Israel into NATO
Turkey has blocked NATO initiatives taken toward the inclusion of Israel in the organization, said Turkish prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Speaking of cultural differences as the reason for the expectations of EU membership for over 50 years, Erdogan said the EU hesitates in its decision because "the organization member countries will not be able to do everything they want, as soon as Turkey joins its ranks," as in the case of with NATO. "Are not we the member of NATO, together with these countries?" - asked Erdogan, adding that Turkey is the only country in the alliance having the Muslim population.
"We will stop NATO's wrong steps. We saw similar steps in the case with Israel's inclusion in NATO. We have our own red lines. Our involvement in NATO together with Israel is beyond discussion," said Erdogan.
