Byelorussian KGB vs. Russian MVD

A lieutenant colonel on active service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (MVD) has been arrested in Belarus. Officials in the Russian MVD have confirmed this information.

The officer serving in one of the regional detachments of the Russian militia, and five more Russian citizens were trying to sell a handful of rubies on Byelorussian territory. Such is the official version of the Byelorussian Committee of State Security (KGB).

Rashid Nurgaliev, Russian MVD Minister, has already given orders to start an internal investigation of the incident. The name of the officer detained in Belarus has not been disclosed "in the interests of the investigation".
