The US will sell F-16 jet fighters to Pakistan

On March 25, US authorities approved the delivery of F-16 jet fighters to Pakistan. This decision gave rise to protests in India, which is worried by the possible upsetting of the balance of power in the region.

To soothe Delhi's concerns, the White House stated its willingness to sell exactly identical aircraft to the Indian Air Force. Earlier India had declared its intention to buy over 100 jet fighters, but so far has not made any final choice of what it will be - American F-16s, French Mirages, Swedish Gripens or Russian MiGs.
