The IV Small Business Forum of the SCO and BRICS Regions opened in the Ufa Congress Hall. 1400 people from 24 countries of the world and 40 constituent entities of the Russian Federation participate in its work. Among them: the governor of the Indonesian province of West Java Ridwan Kamil and the governor of the Iranian province Markazi Sayed Ali Agazadeh.
“We consider this forum as a platform for the implementation of the SCO and BRICS program documents. First of all, this concerns the Ufa Declaration of the SCO Member States Heads and the Strategy of the Economic Partnership of the BRICS countries. It is gratifying that every year the forum is gaining more and more popularity, many people have been in Ufa before. This year a record number of participants came to us, and we hope that everyone who came here will discover new directions for further successful cooperation,” said Rustem Mardanov, the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan.
As the Prime Minister stressed, thanks to this forum, the number of those engaged in entrepreneurship in Bashkortostan has increased by 13,500 people over the past three years. At the same time, a significant part of the formation of foreign trade turnover falls on the share of entrepreneurs of the SCO and BRICS member countries.
For two days, the forum participants will have a busy business program. In addition to the plenary session, it includes holding an exchange of business contacts of businessmen from the SCO and BRICS regions participating in it, presentations and exhibitions of business representatives, as well as round tables and expert sessions in various areas.
Among the topics discussed, there are the existing forms of support for entrepreneurs in the regions of Russia and other countries, the presentation of the existing forms of support for exports and imports, the development of technical and industrial parks, participation in trade and exhibition events.
“Specially invited experts participate in the work of our forum, which, I hope, will help to summarize our experience,” Rustem Mardanov added.
In turn, as noted by the head of the Investment Policy Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Milena Arslanova, the small business forum of the regions of the SCO and BRICS countries in Ufa is a good opportunity to exchange experiences and proposals for further successful development.
“In our country, small and medium businesses are in priority. It faces ambitious tasks: to increase the number of Russians engaged in business from 19 to 25 million people, and also significantly increase export potential and investment by 2024. A lot of work is being done in this direction. I am sure that the set of tools that we have today will allow us to achieve the maximum effect,” said the representative of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
According to her, this will be greatly facilitated by laws currently being adopted at the federal level, aimed at developing and supporting entrepreneurship in the regions. So, next year, concessional financing of small and medium-sized businesses will amount to 1 trillion rubles. With each subsequent year, this amount will increase by 100-200 billion rubles.
The closest attention is planned to be paid to the development of rural consumer cooperation, as well as the promotion of entrepreneurship among different segments of the Russian population. At the same time, special emphasis in educational programs will be made on people of pre-retirement age who would like to learn entrepreneurship, Milena Arslanova summed up.
