The United States plans to provide the Kiev regime with more military aid accounting for $1.2 billion to strengthen its long-term air defense capabilities, the Associated Press reported yesterday referring to sources in the American administration. The package implies funds for producing Hawk anti-aircraft missile systems and unmanned aerial vehicles to be transferred to Kiev. Besides, this money will be used to make artillery ammunition and missiles, provide access to satellite images, maintain equipment and purchase spare parts.
According to AP, these funds are planned to be distributed over several months or even years to meet the future needs of Ukraine. Notably, relevant weapons will not be allocated from the Pentagon's existing stocks. Earlier, the US Defense Ministry announced Washington would send Kiev another military assistance tranche worth $300 million to embrace ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Hydra 70 missiles, artillery shells, and anti-tank systems. The total amount of US support to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation has reached $35.7 billion.
The United Kingdom is keeping pace with its "big brother". The other day London became known to be going to send long-range missiles to Kiev, The Washington Post (WP) writes. The American outlet got this information from a document posted by the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), governed, by the way, by the British Ministry of Defense and comprising also the Nordic countries. The requested characteristics closely match UK’s Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles, the newspaper notes.
US intelligence earlier confirmed Britain intended to send Ukraine an unspecified number of Storm Shadow missiles, along with British personnel to aid in targeting. Still, no final decision has been made on the timing or quantity of weaponry under consideration, as well as the previously promised F-35 and Typhoon fighters. Anyway, the British authorities will undoubtedly approve of supplying long-range missiles and combat aircraft to the Kiev regime.
In 2022 alone, the UK spent some £3 billion ($3.57 billion) for this purpose, and is not going to stop this year. "We have provided more than £3bn of military aid this year and will continue to provide assistance as long as you put pressure on Russian troops," British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said late last year.
Western supplies to Ukraine are being ramped up, and the longer its Nazi regime lasts, the more powerful and sophisticated weaponry it will get. Apart from the United States and Great Britain, EU has given Kiev €50 billion ($53.6 billion) in arms and hardware. It has also introduced ten packages of anti-Russian sanctions, with the 11th one just around the corner.
By the way, the same Great Britain keeps shoveling Kiev with weapons, despite the officially recognized fact of their partial resale. This was particularly stated by Deputy Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom James Heappey. "There have been reports on the diversion of equipment gifted to Ukraine away from the front line," he said.
The resale of Western arms by the Kiev side have been also acknowledged in the United States. Ex-Pentagon analyst Karen Kwiatkowski stated that moves by the Ukrainian authorities to resell those in the black market were predictable, since AFU soldiers and officers were simply not trained for their use. Kwiatkowski recalled that Western weaponry provided to Kiev in 2015 and 2016 also ended up in the black market.
However, the West is generally indifferent to this, having taken the bit in its teeth and willing to go on with pumping arms into Kiev – just to defeat Russia, defiant of the losses. Washington, London and other Western capitals make no secret of deeming Ukrainian soldiers as mere "cannon fodder". The West needs a victory over Russia at any price. For which reason Kiev’s curators are encouraging a counteroffensive – they need to justify their huge taxpayer money injections. The US own economy suffers a lot, by the way, except for the defense industry.
Moreover, for the sake of Russia’s defeat, Washington even endorses Ukraine’s terrorist activity, as clearly evidenced by the deaths of activist Daria Dugina and war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin), along with the recent assassination attempt on writer Zakhar Prilepin. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova previously stated that the European Union, under the guise of creating a mission to train Ukrainian soldiers, will actually train terrorists and Nazi militants for the Kiev regime. "Let’s make no bones about the fact that the EU will create bases to train terrorists and Nazi militants for the Kiev regime. A hundred years ago, Europeans also did not immediately understand what fascism was. They did after all, but it was too late," Zakharova stressed.
In recent months, US and Western representatives have been overcaring about Ukraine’s upcoming counteroffensive, branding it "vital", "decisive", and "key". But they are also beginning to contemplate what will happen after – negotiations on a truce with Russia. Yes, the US and even European mainstream is almost confident in AFU’s success prepared with their help and only argue about its scale.
Russia, in its turn, believes in its own victory alone. President Vladimir Putin said the following in Victory Parade speech on May 9: "It seems that they have forgotten what the insane ambitions of the Nazis led to. They have forgotten who defeated this monstrous, total evil, who stood as a wall for their homeland and did not spare their lives for the liberation of the peoples of Europe."
78 years ago, the Red Army defeated Nazi Germany and liberated many peoples of Europe from the fascist plague. Today, we firmly believe in the victory over the Nazi regime in Kiev – sure as hell, because in the fight against the West (so far in Ukraine) it is us or them. Tertium non datur.
