Russian forces struck Ukrainian troops and military equipment in 109 areas over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.

"Operational/tactical and army aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces struck the Ukrainian army’s manpower and military hardware in 109 areas," the ministry said in a statement, according to TASS.

Russian forces destroyed roughly 60 Ukrainian troops in the Kupyansk area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the western battlegroup supported by aircraft and artillery fire repulsed in their active operations eight attacks by the Ukrainian army’s 14th and 32nd mechanized, 68th jaeger and 101st territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Ivanovka, Sinkovka and Sergeyevka in the Kharkov Region. The enemy’s losses equaled as many as 60 Ukrainian personnel and two pickup trucks," the ministry said.

Russian forces repel 11 Ukrainian attacks in Krasny Liman area over past day

Russian forces repelled 11 Ukrainian army attacks in the Krasny Liman area, eliminating more than 125 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Krasny Liman direction, units of the battlegroup Center supported by army aircraft and artillery fire repelled in their well-coordinated operations 11 attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 21st, 31st and 63rd mechanized brigades near the settlements of Yampolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The enemy’s losses in the Krasny Liman area over the past 24 hours totaled "over 125 personnel, five armored combat vehicles and four motor vehicles," the ministry specified.

Russian forces also inflicted damage on manpower and military hardware of the Ukrainian army’s 12th special operations brigade near the settlement of Grigorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, it said.

Russian forces destroyed over 235 Ukrainian troops and a field ammunition depot in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Donetsk direction, units of the southern battlegroup in interaction with aircraft and artillery inflicted damage on the enemy’s personnel and equipment in areas near the settlements of Kleshcheyevka and Kurdyumovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy’s losses in the past 24 hours totaled over 235 personnel, two infantry fighting vehicles and four motor vehicles. In addition, Russian forces destroyed a field ammunition depot of the Ukrainian army’s 93rd mechanized brigade," the ministry said.

In counter-battery fire, Russian forces destroyed a US-made M777 artillery system, three Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery systems, an Msta-B howitzer and a Gvozdika motorized artillery system in that direction over the past 24 hours, the ministry specified.

Russian forces eliminate 110 Ukrainian troops in south Donetsk area over past day

Russian forces struck four Ukrainian army brigades in the south Donetsk area, eliminating roughly 110 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the south Donetsk direction, units of the battlegroup East in interaction with army aircraft and artillery inflicted damage on amassed manpower of the Ukrainian army’s 79th air assault, 72nd mechanized, 58th motorized infantry and 128th territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Ugledar, Nikolskoye and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

The Ukrainian army’s losses in the south Donetsk direction over the past 24 hours totaled as many as 110 personnel and four motor vehicles, the ministry specified.

Russian forces eliminated roughly 75 Ukrainian troops in the Zaporozhye area over the past day, the ministry reported.

"In the Zaporozhye direction, units of the Russian battlegroup, air strikes and artillery fire inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s 118th mechanized brigade near the settlement of Verbovoye in the Zaporozhye Region. The enemy’s losses in that direction totaled as many as 75 Ukrainian personnel, a tank and two motor vehicles," the ministry said.

In counter-battery fire, Russian forces destroyed two US-made M777 artillery systems, Msta-B and D-20 howitzers and a US-manufactured M119 artillery gun, it said.

Ukrainian marines sabotage plans to cross Dnieper due to heavy losses

The personnel of Ukrainian marine infantry brigades sabotage plans to land on the left bank of the Dnieper River due to heavy losses, the ministry reported.

"The enemy suffered heavy losses in its futile attempts to seize bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper River and, therefore, the personnel of the Ukrainian army’s marine infantry brigades sabotage disembarkation objectives," the ministry said.

In the Kherson direction, Russian forces destroyed as many as 55 Ukrainian troops, three motor vehicles and a D-20 howitzer in the past 24 hours as a result of damage inflicted on the enemy by firepower, the ministry specified.

Russian air defenses down three warplanes in Ukraine operation over past day

Russian air defense forces shot down two Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jets and an L-39 combat trainer over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Air defense capabilities shot down two Ukrainian MiG-29 warplanes near the city of Krasnoarmeisk in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kanatovo in the Kirovograd Region. In addition, a Ukrainian Air Force L-39 combat training plane was shot down near the settlement of Olenovka in the Dnepropetrovsk Region," the ministry said.

Russian air defenses intercept 5 JDAM bombs, 5 HIMARS rockets over past day

Russian air defense forces intercepted five American JDAM smart bombs and five rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system over the past day, the ministry reported.

"During the last 24-hour period, five JDAM guided air bombs and five rockets of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system were intercepted," the ministry said.

Russian air defenses destroy over 40 Ukrainian military drones in past day

Russian air defense forces destroyed more than 40 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day, the ministry reported.

"Air defense capabilities destroyed 44 unmanned aerial vehicles in areas near the settlements of Tokmak in the Zaporozhye Region, Berestovoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Zolotaryovka and Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Sagy in the Kherson Region," the ministry said.

In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 511 Ukrainian warplanes, 253 military helicopters, 8,220 unmanned aerial vehicles, 441 surface-to-air missile systems, 12,890 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,169 multiple rocket launchers, 6,865 field artillery guns and mortars and 14,602 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the ministry specified.
