Russian forces took advantageous sites and repulsed seven Ukrainian army counterattacks in the Avdeyevka area, eliminating roughly 450 enemy troops over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.
"In the Avdeyevka direction, units of the Battlegroup Center gained more advantageous frontiers and positions and inflicted damage on amassed manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 24th and 53rd mechanized, 59th motorized infantry and 3rd assault brigades near the settlements of Rozovka and Vodyanoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In addition, they repulsed seven counterattacks by Ukrainian formations near the settlements of Lastochkino, Kirovo and Pervomaiskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said in a statement.
The Ukrainian army lost "as many as 450 personnel, a tank, four infantry fighting vehicles, six armored combat vehicles, five motor vehicles, a Grad multiple rocket launcher and a D-30 howitzer, it specified.

"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the Western Battlegroup conducted active operations and inflicted damage by firepower on formations of the Ukrainian army’s 14th and 32nd mechanized, 25th airborne and 115th territorial defense brigade in areas near the settlements of Chugunovka in the Kharkov Region and Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. In addition, they repulsed five counterattacks near the settlement of Sinkovka in the Kharkov Region," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost as many as 30 personnel, two armored combat vehicles, four pickup trucks and an Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system in the Kupyansk direction over the past 24 hours, it said.

Russian forces destroyed over 425 Ukrainian troops and eight enemy combat vehicles in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Battlegroup improved their forward edge positions and inflicted damage on formations of the Ukrainian army’s 93rd mechanized, 81st airmobile and 241st territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Belogorovka, Kleshcheyevka and Razdolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to over 425 personnel, two tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles, two armored combat vehicles, 20 motor vehicles, a D-30 howitzer and an AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station," the ministry said.
Near the settlement of Mayaki in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russian forces wiped out a Ukrainian ammunition depot, it said.

Russian forces struck two Ukrainian army brigades in the south Donetsk area, destroying roughly 210 enemy troops and two tanks over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the south Donetsk direction, units of the Battlegroup East conducted active operations, repelling an enemy counterattack near the settlement of Novozlatopol in the Zaporozhye Region and inflicted damage by firepower on the Ukrainian army’s 72nd mechanized and 128th territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Vladimirovka and Staromayorskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in the south Donetsk direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 210 personnel, two tanks, three motor vehicles and an AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radar station, it specified.

Russian forces destroyed roughly 75 Ukrainian troops and a Slovak artillery gun in the Kherson area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In their well-coordinated operations in the Kherson direction, units of the Dnepr Battlegroup inflicted damage by combined firepower on formations of the Ukrainian army’s 65th mechanized, 82nd air assault and 128th mountain assault brigades in areas near the settlements of Rabotino, Verbovoye and Lugovoye in the Zaporozhye Region," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Kherson direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 75 troops, a tank, two armored combat vehicles, eight motor vehicles, a Slovak Zuzana self-propelled artillery gun and two D-30 howitzers, it specified.
Russian air defenses down 99 Ukrainian military drones over past day
Russian air defense forces shot down 12 rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, an American JDAM smart bomb and 99 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day, the ministry reported.
"During the last 24-hour period, air defense capabilities shot down 12 rockets of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and a JDAM air guided bomb. In addition, they destroyed 99 unmanned aerial vehicles in areas near the settlements of Kremennaya, Rubezhnoye and Lisichansk in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Yampolovka, Verkhnetoretskoye and Staromlynovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Pologi, Vesyoloye, Ulyanovka and Vasilyevka in the Zaporozhye Region and Novaya Mayachka in the Kherson Region," the ministry said.
Russian forces hammer Ukrainian troops in 123 areas over past day
Russian forces inflicted damage on Ukrainian troops in 123 areas and wiped out an enemy fuel depot over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces struck a fuel depot, manpower and military equipment of the Ukrainian army in 123 areas," the ministry said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 572 Ukrainian warplanes, 266 helicopters, 13,042 unmanned aerial vehicles, 471 surface-to-air missile systems, 15,149 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,223 multiple rocket launchers, 8,124 field artillery guns and mortars and 18,900 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.
