A political circus has been arranged for the sake of formally declaring Kamala Harris as the Dems’ presidential candidate in the upcoming November election. Still, she has long been perceived as their official hopeful, with the election campaign being in full sway. And yet, the show must go on…
The US mainstream media have been enthusiastic and overwhelmed with feigned solemnity as the Democratic National Convention gets underway in Chicago. The venue is touted as fateful, as if anticipating the "last and decisive battle" of American democracy advocates against the threat posed by Republican candidate Donald Trump.
About 5,000 delegates have gathered to attend the show and supposedly cast their votes for the nomination of incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as the donkey’s POTUS and VP candidates respectively. But things have been marked out long since: Harris is a de facto candidate already. Party members approved it two weeks ago in a five-day electronic vote, shortly after President Biden announced that he would not seek re-election.
By the way, the process of absentee voting on Harris candidacy remained unclear and untransparent to the Americans. It is only known that it allegedly yielded all but unanimous support to the incumbent VP. Meanwhile, results of official primaries by state were put down the drain. This gave Harris reason to declare herself the official Democratic candidate for US presidency almost two weeks ago at a Philadelphia rally.
And then, the entire nation witnessed a true masterclass in promoting Kamala as the "beacon of democracy" and "America's sheet anchor" in combating the threat posed by Trump. Back in mid-July, no one had doubts that Trump would blow any Democratic candidate out of the water. And by mid-August, everyone both in America and beyond is beginning to think of him as an outsider against Harris the true leader. A recent Ipsos survey revealed her alleged 49 percent support among the registered US voters, with only 45 percent ready to support Trump. This kind of outcome has been systematically hammered into the heads of ordinary Americans. So much for the American media power. A real clown show, isn’t it?
And in this sense, the National Democratic Convention is only intriguing as per how real puppeteers have manipulated public consciousness in the United States and across the globe. This is yet another reason to say that America is not run by the "president-elect" (whoever he may be), but by Wall Street’s "money masters". They are the core, the heart of the so-called "deep state", which holds the keys in both the United States and the entire Western world.
It was the "deep state" that pulled Kamala Harris out of oblivion to make her vice president as the one meeting all the criteria of liberal dogmatics: a woman of color endorsing each and every minority, etc. And the same "deep state" tried to put her on the backest of back burners when the question came up about Biden's second term and his VP choice.
Back in early 2023, the Democrats were faced with the acute issue of picking a running mate for Biden, because by that time Kamala Harris’ utter political unsuitability was clear to everyone, even though she did not decide anything herself and should only open her mouth in lockstep with topics under discussion. But she proved unable to do that either. Instead, she poured forth "thoughtful" wisdoms doomed to become social media memes.
Before the 2020 election, the liberal press was literally singing praises to Harris. The New York Times wrote that she "will be the first woman of color to be nominated for national office by a major political party <…> including a gift for capturing moments of raw political electricity on the debate stage and elsewhere." The Washington Post praised her as the future party’s vanguard to become a tabernacle of democratic hopes for the motley Dem camp. In other words, a short time afterwards, the mainstream media whomped up a "unique candidate", almost a genius, to become America’s vice president.
But by the beginning of 2023, these media had changed tune. Politico suddenly noticed that Harris failed to get the work of her office up and running, and created a disgusting, non-working atmosphere around her. "People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment," a person familiar with how Harris's office is run told the outlet. "It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like shit," he said.
"The fact is that no matter how the White House or the corporate media tries to spin it, Harris is simply not a good politician," The American Spectator wrote around the same period. As a result, Kamala Harris was simply not shown to the public back then, so as to avoid embarrassment. "The more people see of Harris, the more her incompetence is exposed… Although it is still not clear if Biden will run for reelection in 2024, regardless of what he decides to do, one thing is certain: Harris is already a lame duck," Spectator wrote in early 2023.
The question is: why did the establishment choose this absolutely incompetent person? The "deep state" may be just running out of time to find and prepare a new candidate. Without a failed TV debate, Biden would have remained the Democratic Party's hopeful. Is there any difference to the "deep state" whose strings to pull — senile Biden’s or dullard Harris’?
But now, "the concept has changed," as the metaphor goes. Harris is no longer dullard, and the only point left is to use all the cosmic power of the American propaganda machine to make a truly "unique candidate" out of her in everyone else’s eyes. This is the very task faced by the National Democratic Convention, along with the media accredited to cover it. Illusionists from all the circuses in the world would fade away as compared to them altogether.
